James Clugnet at the FIS athlete commission
I may compete in an individual sport, but I’m a born team player. I’ve always loved sharing success, both within and outside the world of sport. I want to use my strength as a team player to bring athletes and teams together to give us a bigger platform and a stronger voice. Sport wouldn’t exist without the athletes, but I often feel that our views aren’t seen as important or taken seriously. My goal is to change that, and make sure that our concerns and input are given a higher priority. As an athlete commission member I will have a focus on environmental sustainability and improving athlete welfare. I will also push FIS to have ambitious goals to support athletes and nations struggling due to limited resources. As an athlete from Britain, I’ve experienced how difficult it can be to get your voice heard in a sport dominated by a few larger nations.
